The Why

AI democratized creation. We chose not to build everything.

The marketers we sell to know what they're doing. They already have the tools they need to make things. Brand, design, image, voice, page, sequence, signup flow. That's their craft.

What they don't have is a layer underneath, holding the relationships and proving which ones drove revenue. That's the layer we build.

Which means there's a long list of things we deliberately chose not to build, even though AI lowered the bar on every one of them. These stand out.

No. 01

We don't own the capture surface.

Marketers already have tools they trust. Luma, Splash, and Zuddl for events. Lovable, Webflow, and HubSpot for pages and forms. The UX battle is over at every price point, and the marketer's eye picks the tool.

We're not going to win the designer back from Webflow, and we're not going to replace the red ocean of event platforms. People trust a Luma link. That trust took years to build and isn't ours to take.

The deeper reason is that no two partners are going to have the same tech stack. Co-marketing was never meant to work as one tool. It works across two companies, two CRMs, two event platforms, two definitions of a qualified lead. That's where we started with collaboration: working across tech stacks and organizations, not chasing CSV exports between them.

So we don't try to own the surface. We instrument it. We read forms, accept webhooks, and read and write through MCP. The page gets built wherever the marketer wants. The event runs wherever the marketer runs it. The data flows into the layer underneath, where the relationships across both companies' stacks finally sit in one place.

No. 02

We don't replace the CRM.

Marketers don't control the CRM. They're beholden to it. The buying decision was made years ago by a different team, on different criteria, and a CRM migration is not on any marketer's wishlist. Or anyone else's.

So we didn't build a system of record. We built a system of context.

The CRM stores transactions. heyBTW understands relationships. Closed deals versus the partner events, executive dinners, and warm intros that moved them. They sit at different altitudes and they need each other. Three insights your CRM will never surface shows what that looks like in practice.

The CRM overlay we ship in parallel is the proof. We're not asking marketers to fight a battle they can't win, we're enriching the system they're already living inside with the context it was never built to hold.

Every no points to the same yes.

These are all layers that sit on top of something. We build the something.

The layer between what's recorded and what's decided. Everything else, we leave to the tools that already do it well.

See the layer we built.
